I am a lifelong resident of Murrysville, born and raised here by my parents, Chester & Carol Klingensmith, on Meadowbrook Road.

Family is the most important thing in my life. I have been married for 32 years to my wife Susan and I raised my three children Maggie, Michael, and Annie here in Murrysville. I felt strongly that the Murrysville community and school district has provided the best education and a safe environment for my family to thrive in.

My children were very active in sports, including baseball, basketball, soccer and karate. I was an active parent coach in every sport they participated in. I felt it was my job to give my support to my children and the community. I was a member of FRAA Baseball, Basketball and Soccer boosters. I served as avolunteer board member for the Franklin Township Municipal Sewage Authority for 12 years.

I graduated from Franklin Regional High School in 1981 and attended Penn State University immediately after where I received a Bachelors of Science in 1985. I worked for twelve years as an engineer then made the decision to attend law school in 1997. I had a fascination with the law and felt I could partner my engineering background with the law to advance my career. I graduated from Duquesne University in 2000 with a Juris Doctorate in Law. I worked as a defense attorney in the corporate arena for four years going into private practice in 2005. 

In my private practice, I have been an attorney in corporate, civil, criminal and family law cases. I am running for district judge in order to continue to maintain a safe and secure community for my family and the residents of the district. I feel it is critical to make sure that the district judge’s position has someone who will uphold the law, provide fair treatment to all parties and uphold the constitution.

I believe I am the best candidate for the position based on the broad range of cases the District Court hears that requires a Judge who has a wide range of knowledge and experiences. My experience in all types of cases as a lawyer is critical to the position of district judge and is not limited to one area of the law. My experience as an attorney and engineer will allow me to understand and serve my community.

I have been a standing member of the republican party most of my adult life. I am pro-life, and I am a strong supporter of all constitutional rights, including the second amendment. I have been an active member of MERC for the past year, supporting candidates across the ticket with time and energy.

I believe I am the best candidate for the role and will be a successful and valuable asset to our community.
